Market Report for Thursday February 19th
February 24 2009Life does continue after the madness of valentines day. The market although being very quiet on Tuesday kicked into full gear again on Thursday, as the florists restock their shops after the busy Valentines period. Rose prices fell dramatically this week as their demand has been drastically reduced. The quality is brilliant as is the bright colour range which we have in stock at present. The 50cm Roses offer great value in store at only $18.00 per bunch.
Oriental lillies have weathered the recent heat wave exceptionally well and are of brilliant quality at the moment.
From the farm, we have secured the rights to grow an award winning new variety called ‘Green Trick’. We have watched the crop develop over the past 3 months and this week will begin to pick this new range. It is from the dianthus family but is unlike any other. Its flower consists of small grass-like fibres which form a large green ball. We have a bunch in store for you to have a look at.
The other exciting product at the farm at the moment is the lissianthus. This is the first time we have grown lissianthus at our Ballarat farm and are amazed at the quality. We have this as our bunch of the week at $9.99 or 3 for $20.00 which is simply unbeatable value.
