Market Report Thursday 15th January
January 15 2009Well we have over indulged in the Christmas cheer and are carrying a few extra kilos but that hasn’t stopped the flower seasons rolling on. The new year sees the prime time for some stunning flowers.
Bouvardia
This stunning white star shaped flower with a dainty perfume is simply stunning. Its stems have an evergreen foliage which adds to their beautiful look in the vase. Bouvardia is locally grown by Colin Wicks and is definitely worth a try for your next buy. This week Bouvardia is our bunch of the week at $9.99 per bunch.
Lissianthus
Ballarat grown Lissianthus has arrived. Yes this is the first ever commercially grown crop of Lissianthus that has been grown in the Ballarat region and it is being grown by us at our farm!!! The first bed to flower is the white Mariarchi variety. Lissianthus hasn’t got the best vase life with an expectation of 5-7 days but it makes up for this down side in its brilliant apperance. It is often referedd to as a paper rose. Lissianthus are very popular in wedding bouquets and floral arrangements but are equally impressive in a vase on their own. We are extremely proud to offer these at the very reasonable price of $12.99 per bunch.
The new year has also heralded the arrival of other seasonal blooms such as lotus pods, water lilies, calla lilies, princess Mary lily or Gloriosa lily and locally grown Kangaroo Paw.
