Market report 16th April 2009

April 17 2009

Market supply has tightened in recent weeks with the cooler Autumn weather upon us.  Cooler nights means slower flower growth and consequently supply of all Ballarat and locally grown flowers has slowed.  With a hint of winter in the air the thoughts of Tulips come to the for.  Current quality of Tulips is excellent.  With their soft velvety texture they are and excellent choice at this time of year.

Our Iris grower at the moment is Daryl from Koomen flowers.  Their Iris’s are grown at their Tasmanian farm and we have sourced some excellent quality bunches this week and have made it our instore bunch of the week at ony $9.90 per bunch or three for $20.  Yes cheap I know only $20 for three bunches.  What an excellent thank you present for all the nanna’s that have been looking after the kids over school Holidays!!!!
As usual our buying strategy is Quality, Quality and more Quality.  At stems only the best will do us and consequently only the best for you!!

Other seasonal choices are our FLorigene Moonsim carnations with all four varieties moonvista, moonlight, moonshade and moonshadow currently available.  All are locally grown at our Ballarat farm.

At the farm our Chrysanthanum houses are colouring up right on cue for mothers day which is only 4 weeks away.
