Market Report Saturday 24th October
October 24 2009This weeks market report comes to you on a Saturday, just to remind our loyal customers that we go to the market 3 days every week to ensure that the freshest flowers possible are supplied to the Ballarat area…and also I forgot to do it on Thursday morning.
The Oriental lillie special has (2 for $20) has been incredible, so we have had to load the van up this morning to ensure we meet with the demand. They are slightly shorter than our normal stock, however are still a good length to suit most vases at home. We have purchased a lot of mini gerberas this week, so we have an in store special of 3 for $20.00. I dont think there would be a flower shop in Australia that would beat this bargain.
As mentioned in lasts weeks news, the waratahs are magnificent at the moment. Some are coming in over a metre in length, whilst we still have the very popular 30 – 50cm range, which tend to be more suitable for most homes. Mixed in with some pin wheels and some coocinea banksias, a stunning native display can be made very quickly and easily.
On Thursday we also purchased some garden style red roses, which have an extremely large head, and some have the traditional ‘rose smell’ that is no longer common in the commercially grown varieties.
Our general rose mix also provide a great value and some superb new colours. This week we are offering the 50cm range at the same price as the 40cm, so make sure you make some time on your busy weekend to stop in at Stems and let one of our staff help you in finding the perfect flowers for your needs.
