Market Report Thursday 9th September
September 9 2010Well I think spring has sprung! The thermometer has lifted from single digits into doubles and boy it makes a difference. Todays Victorian Flower market was busy as usual but some were a lot busier with Jewish newyear celebrations this week. At Stems our team has been busy with the large variety of spring wonders that we purchased today. Fresias, Rannuncullis, poppys and violets are looking fantastic at the moment. Green trick numbers are up slightly so it is instore a little more consistantly. Remember these green pompoms have an excellent vase life of up to three weeks.
Native flowers continue to be in good supply. More King Proteas now with our local grower of coccineas bringing in her first shipment this week. Hazels coccineas only come from Stawell and are not damaged in anyway from transport unlike the ones via Perth that have small marks on them from being in a box.
If you haven’t tried blushing bride in a vase on its own for home then you probably should. This is a subtle and pretty vase of flowers that doesn’t break the bank.this blushing bride is Pink we often have cream.
Finally local cymbidium orchid stems and plants continue to be at their peak and are well worth a look at. Cymbidium Courage check out our online shopping.
As always, give us a call and let us help you with your next flower purchase.
